The 10 best final songs of the night

As if choosing your first dance isn't hard enough, the final song of the night is just as important! Here are 10 of the best tracks to end any party with!

So the DJ has rolled out all of the usual party bangers and there are about 30 minutes of the party left before bedtime so it’s time to take the celebration to another level with the ultimate list of sing-a-long classics!

I get asked for song suggestions all the time and with us being halfway through the year I thought I would compile the top 10 songs that other couples are choosing as the final song of the night!

  • Never Forget by Take That – Such a fantastic tune, and the most popular choice of couples. A great sing-a-long track!
  • New York New York by Frank Sinatra – This is probably one of the most popular end-of-night songs of all time and to be honest, I’ve only played this track one time less than the Take That song above!
  • I’ve Had The Time Of My Life by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes – Dirty Dancing is one of the greatest films of all time and this song is certainly iconic and is number 3 in my top 10!
  • You’ve Got A Friend In Me – Randy Newman – Now, I’m not sure if there’s some kind of Toy Story revival going on but this song has appeared on the list of final songs for quite a few weddings this year already and as such, it finds itself at number 4 in the list!
  • At Last by Etta James – Quite simply her signature song and the most popular version of it without a doubt.
  • Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by Green Day – You would think that a song about the anger someone felt when their girlfriend moved away to another part of the country wouldn’t be a great song choice but, on the contrary, it’s a fantastic tune and certainly raises the roof each time it’s played.
  • Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen – It’s the UK’s third best-selling single of all time only topped by Band Aid and Elton John’s Candle In The Wind ’97 and is certainly a popular song choice for the last song of the night. The beautiful melodies at the beginning and end, and of course, that amazing middle section that has everyone jumping and leaping about with air guitars! A perfect choice!
  • Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond – There’s nothing more to say about this track…it’s an end-of-night anthem for sure!
  • Mr Brightside by The Killers – Again, like the above, if this song doesn’t get the dance floor jumping then there’s not a song in the world that will!
  • American Pie by Don McLean – A fantastic song with a sad underlying story about “the day the music died” – a reference to a plane crash back in 1959 that ended the lives of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. That aside, it’s a great anthem to end your wedding reception and without a doubt, the only version to play is the full-length 8-minute original!

I hope you enjoyed this list of end-of-party anthems!
